Each project is completely unique, ranging in value from £100k to £5m, combining specialist manufacturing, fit-out, and themed construction expertise. The Role – Estimator / Quantity Surveyor
Due to continued growth, my client is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of bespoke construction and fit-out projects from tender stage through to final account.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working on unique, technically challenging projects within a fast-paced and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Producing detailed take-offs and cost plans
Managing project costs throughout delivery lifecycle
Procuring subcontractors and suppliers
Negotiating quotations and contracts
Monitoring variations, valuations, and final accounts
Supporting project managers with commercial reporting and forecasting
Liaising with clients, designers, suppliers, and internal teams
Assisting in identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Surveyor
Background within construction, fit-out, manufacturing, interiors, themed environments, or specialist contracting
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable Experience
Experience working on bespoke or high-end fit-out projects
Exposure to hospitality, leisure, retail, themed attractions, or cruise ship projects
Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
