Waites Recruitment consultancy are seeking a Project Team Lead (Construction Estimator) for a client on a full time basis based in Andover.

Position: Projects Team Leader (CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR)

Position Overview


As the Projects Team Leader, you will lead a team of Internal Sales Executives, manage your own portfolio of responsibilities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring outstanding service delivery, and fostering collaboration across teams. Your leadership will enable your team to respond promptly to customer enquiries, provide accurate technical support, and maximize conversion rates. By balancing your operational duties with strategic oversight, you will contribute significantly to the company’s success.

Line Manager: Internal Sales Managre

Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management:

Oversee a team of Internal Sales Executives, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

Manage and align resources to ensure an even distribution of technical knowledge and workload across the team.

Act as line manager for the Steelwork Manager and Customer Service Manager, supporting their teams’ operations and ensuring alignment with business goals.

Quoting and Technical Support:

  • Personally prepare quotes for Target Customer Profile (TCP) Prospects and Key Account Manager customers.
  • Assist with technical quotes for Bronze customers and provide technical guidance to the Internal Sales Executives as needed.

Pre-Quote Engagement:

Conduct and oversee outbound Pre-Quote Calls (PQC) to fully understand the needs of each enquiry.

Ensure that enquiries are properly qualified, prioritizing long-term customer relationships over short-term wins. Decline non-core-profile enquiries when appropriate.

Follow-Up Activities:

  • Perform and monitor Quote Follow-Up Calls, ensuring the team meets agreed targets for conversion rates.
  • Foster a culture of tenacity and persistence within the team to secure orders and grow accounts.

Customer Service Support:

Provide support to the Customer Service Team by assisting with phone calls and order processing when necessary.

Collaborate closely with the Customer Service Manager to resolve escalated issues and improve service delivery.

Operational Oversight:

  • Work closely with the Steelwork Manager to ensure technical requirements are met efficiently.
  • Develop and implement processes to enhance the team’s effectiveness and streamline communication between departments.
