The Role
This is a vital position responsible for overseeing the planning, organisation and delivery of mock and public examinations, ensuring all processes are carried out in accordance with JCQ regulations and examination board requirements.
The successful candidate will manage a team of invigilators and exam officers, coordinate examination logistics, oversee exam entries and access arrangements, and support students throughout the examination process.
This role would suit someone with previous examinations experience within an educational setting, excellent organisational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate all Senior School and Sixth Form examinations
* Create and oversee examination timetables and seating plans
* Liaise with examination boards, teaching staff and external organisations
* Recruit, train and supervise invigilators
* Coordinate examination entries, amendments and coursework submissions
* Ensure compliance with JCQ regulations and examination procedures
* Organise examination rooms and invigilation schedules
* Support students with access arrangements and reasonable adjustments
* Manage the secure handling and distribution of examination papers and results
* Process enquiries about results, reviews and access to scripts requests
* Maintain accurate examination records and data systems
* Assist with results days and post-results services in August
What We Are Looking For
* Previous experience managing or supporting examinations within a school or college setting
* Strong understanding of JCQ regulations and examination procedures
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong IT skills, including experience handling examination data systems
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Confident communication and leadership skills
* A supportive and approachable manner when working with students and staff
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of examination administration processes
* Experience creating seating plans and managing access arrangements
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience coordinating teams and managing workloads
* Confident using laptops, spreadsheets and online systems
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
