We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep buildings, grounds, and equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is happy to work flexible hours to keep operations moving.
Working closely with the Facilities Manager and teams across the business, you will be the go-to person for keeping sites in excellent condition, responding to issues quickly, and helping to plan improvements that make a lasting difference.
Role Overview
As Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across multiple sites, ensuring everything operates at its best. You will manage contractors, keep records accurate, and play an active part in upgrades, renovations, and the wider maintenance plan.
Facilities Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to keep facilities and equipment operating reliably
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment regularly to spot and resolve issues early
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule work with minimal disruption
- Brief and oversee external contractors, including those unfamiliar with site layouts
- Keep maintenance schedules, records, and repair logs fully up to date
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
- Support the development of maintenance procedures and protocols
- Contribute to facility upgrades and renovation projects
- Monitor and manage stock levels of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Facilities Maintenance Technician Key Requirements
- Relevant qualification in carpentry, plumbing, or engineering, with the ability to investigate basic electrical faults
- Proven experience in a similar facilities maintenance role
- Strong working knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication
- Physically able to carry out manual work and lift heavy objects as required
