Job Title: Head of Department – Family Law Solicitor
Location: Blackburn (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £49,000 per annum + DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Family Law department, ensuring high standards of legal service delivery
- Oversee a varied caseload of family matters, with a focus on children law (both public and private)
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors, trainees, and support staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards
- Contribute to the strategic growth and development of the department
- Maintain and build strong client relationships, delivering excellent client care
- Manage performance, billing, and departmental targets
- Qualified Solicitor with 7+ years PQE in Family Law
- Children Panel Accreditation (essential)
- Strong experience handling complex children matters
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a legal setting
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
