Day Rate: Up to £350 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // Up to £475.72 p/d Umbrella

We are recruiting experienced NDT Welding Inspectors / Field Engineers to join the Quality Surveillance team on site in Somerset.

If you have worked on large-scale infrastructure - Water & Wastewater, Energy from Waste, Biomass, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Nuclear or major Industrial Construction - and you understand welding from a metallurgy, NDT and standards perspective, this is your opportunity to apply that expertise on a truly safety-critical project.

The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for carrying out site quality surveillance activities across mechanical installation and fabrication scopes including:

  • Pipework
  • Pressure systems
  • Static & rotating equipment
  • Structural and mechanical assemblies

Working within the Site Quality Surveillance Team, you'll ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with approved quality requirements, inspection plans and applicable industry codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct welding and NDT quality surveillance activities on site
  • Review contractor compliance against approved Quality Control Plans and ITPs
  • Identify non-conformances and support NCR generation
  • Ensure inspection records are completed before works are covered up
  • Monitor welding, fabrication and installation activities against required standards
  • Support proactive quality issue identification and mitigation
  • Liaise with construction, QA/QC and contractor teams across site
  • Ensure formal quality processes are followed at all times

About You

Essential Requirements

  • CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification minimum
  • PCN-certified NDT qualification(s)
  • Experience in welding inspection on large construction projects
  • Background in nuclear, power, petrochemical, oil & gas or other regulated industries

Strong understanding of:

  • RCC-M
  • ASME
  • BS EN standards

Experience with:

  • ITPs
  • NCRs
  • QA/QC documentation
  • Quality surveillance activities

Highly Desirable

  • CSWIP 3.2
  • Multiple PCN certifications
  • Nuclear new build experience
  • Pressure systems experience
  • HPC or major infrastructure project experience
  • Knowledge of safety-critical fabrication environments
