Field Service Engineer

Salary: £46-48K + company van + plenty of overtime including door to door pay + fantastic specialist training given

Holidays: 31 days

Yorkshire based – Can be based anywhere in South or West Yorkshire (M1 or M62 Corridor)

The Company:

I am working with a specialist engineering firm who specialise in the packaging sector in the Yorkshire area that produce process and systems for a portfolio of blue-chip FMCG customers in the UK and abroad.

They have an excellent reputation in the industry and boast an enviable reputation as market leader. They have an incredibly settled team and offer unrivalled job security and longevity.

They are currently going through a huge transition and as a result, they are looking to add an additional field service engineer to their department.

The role of the service engineer is as follows:

  • 90% of the week on customer sites across the Yorkshire, northwest and the midlands
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery
  • Planned service visits
  • Attending emergency breakdowns

This is a great opportunity for a field service engineer looking to reduce their travel but doesn’t want to be stuck in the same pace all the time, or maybe a maintenance engineer or an experienced service engineer looking for a more varied role with a mix of workshop an ed site work.

Required Experience:

  • The field service engineer will be apprentice trained and hold a minimum qualification of NVQ 2 or 3
  • You must be skilled in diagnosing faults both mechanically and electrically
  • Experience within install, commission, service and maintenance
  • Ideally have experience within a manufacturing or FMCG industry within the packaging sector, but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • You must be flexible to travel and work away from home
