Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join one of our well-respected clients within the material handling sector. This is a field-based role ideal for an engineer who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.

Role Overview

• Service, maintain, and repair forklifts at customer sites

• Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably

• Represent the company professionally while working independently in the field

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance in line with safety standards

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults

• Respond to breakdown calls, resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime

• Communicate clearly with customers, providing progress updates and equipment advice

• Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed records of work and parts used

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience servicing and repairing forklifts or similar heavy equipment

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

• Confident fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

• Professional, customer-focused communication skills

• Ability to manage workload and priorities in a field-based environment

Desirable Experience

• Background in HGV maintenance or repair

• Transferable skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics
