Role Overview - Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join our engineering team covering sites across the UK along with Europe, Asia & America. This role involves installing, maintaining, and servicing a range of specialist capital equipment used in industrial manufacturing processes, including systems associated with investment casting, autoclaves, and steam-based machinery.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who enjoys problem-solving in the field and delivering high-quality technical support to customers.

Key Responsibilities - Field Service Engineer

  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of capital equipment at customer sites
  • Mechanical fault-finding and repair of systems including autoclaves, steam equipment, and associated machinery
  • Supporting equipment used in investment casting processes
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure reliability and performance
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions to minimise downtime
  • Working with a range of mechanical components including valves, pumps, pressure systems, and pipework
  • Supporting commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
  • Providing clear service reports and documentation following site visits
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers through professional service and technical support
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations

Skills & Experience - Field Service Engineer

  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
  • Experience working with capital equipment or industrial machinery
  • Knowledge of steam systems, pressure vessels, or autoclave equipment would be advantageous
  • Experience supporting equipment used in investment casting or similar industrial processes is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach

Qualifications - Field Service Engineer

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
