Job Title: Finance Assistant

Location: Colchester

Salary: 28-30K per annum

Hours: Full Time – Monday - Friday

Nolan Recruitment are recruiting a diligent and organised Finance Assistant to support all aspects of the Finance and Accounts function for their client based in Colchester. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and accurate operation of day-to-day financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements on a monthly basis
  • Preparing and completing supplier payment runs
  • Processing intercompany payments
  • Processing and issuing sales invoices to customers
  • Maintaining the sales ledger and supporting credit control activities
  • Assisting with debt collection and responding to customer queries
  • Processing monthly expenses in line with company policies
  • Liaising with internal teams to support finance operations
  • Communicating with customers and suppliers as required
  • Monitoring departmental and individual KPIs and reporting where required
  • Assisting with month-end and ledger close processes
  • Undertaking any other duties necessary to support the finance function and wider business

Essential Skills & Experience

  • AAT qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of financial and accounting procedures
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the  team
  • Flexibility and willingness to support across a wider range of duties when required
  • Good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and accounting systems
  • Confident and professional communication skills, including telephone contact with senior stakeholders
  • A friendly, polite, and professional manner
