Finance Manager – Secondary School (East London) – Permanent

A highly regarded secondary school in East London is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a full-time, temp to perm.

This is a senior role offering the opportunity to lead financial operations, work closely with senior leadership, and help shape the long-term financial strategy of the school.

The Role

• Lead on budget planning, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Produce monthly management accounts and reports for senior leaders and governors
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations and compliance (ESFA / Academy Trust standards)
• Manage audits, financial returns, and statutory reporting
• Monitor payroll, income, expenditure, and financial controls
• Support strategic financial planning and funding bids
• Oversee contracts, procurement, and value for money processes

What We’re Looking For

• Degree and/or professional finance qualification
• Strong experience in financial management (education sector desirable)
• Experience managing budgets, reporting, and audits
• Knowledge of academy finance / public sector finance (preferred)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to work at both strategic and operational level
