Location: Derby 
Salary: up to £45,000 (DOE) + study support
Type: Permanent, Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a fast-paced and evolving business during a period of continued growth and investment. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this role will play a key part in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reporting across the business.

This position would suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, taking ownership of financial controls while also supporting wider commercial and operational decision making.

• Preparation of monthly management accounts including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
• Full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, reviews, and controls
• Supporting statutory accounts preparation and acting as a key contact during the year-end audit process
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory requirements
• Reviewing and maintaining financial processes to improve efficiency, controls, and data accuracy
• Supporting finance systems and reporting tools, driving best practice across the finance function
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial insight
• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to provide support, challenge, and commercial understanding
• Assisting with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
• Strong background within financial accounting and month-end processes
• Experienced in balance sheet control and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working with ERP systems and finance software
• Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across non-finance teams
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment
