Financial Accountant

This permanent role offers a detail-driven Financial Accountant the chance to oversee core financial reporting and analysis in the transport and distribution industry.

Description

• Owning the financial control, reporting and analysis of capital expenditure across the business
• Leading fixed asset accounting, including maintenance of the register and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and spend reviews for large‑scale and ongoing projects
• Working closely with project managers to provide financial insight and challenge
• Contributing to statutory reporting, year‑end close and the external audit process
• Acting as a technical accounting point of contact for finance and wider stakeholder groups

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) with a minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience
• Proven experience supporting statutory accounts preparation, year‑end and audit
• Strong technical grounding in UK GAAP
• Advanced Excel capability, with confidence using systems and data to improve finance processes
• Highly organised, able to manage priorities and deliver effectively in a fast‑paced environment
