Company Overview:

A leading fire protection company is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Door Engineer to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in fire door inspections, installations, maintenance, and remedial works to join a well-established business with a strong reputation in the fire safety sector.

The Role:

As a Fire Door Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out fire door inspections, installations, maintenance, and refurbishment works across a range of commercial and residential sites.

You will ensure all work is completed to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry best practices.

Fire Door Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out fire door inspections and condition assessments
  • Complete fire door installations, maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment works
  • Install and maintain fire door hardware, including hinges, locks, closers, seals, and ironmongery
  • Ensure all fire door works comply with current fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
  • Accurately record completed works, inspections, and remedial actions
  • Work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Liaise with management and clients to provide updates on project progress
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Travel to customer sites as required

Fire Door Engineer Skills and Experience:

  • To be considered for this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience in fire door inspection, installation, maintenance, and remedial works
  • Strong knowledge of fire door regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards
  • Excellent carpentry skills and attention to detail
  • NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent qualification
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A full UK driving licence
