Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Food Training Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality training and creating engaging learning content across food and facilities management operations.
Job Overview
This role is central to building food service capability, improving compliance and enhancing service standards across retail, catering, hospitality and facilities environments. The Food Training Manager will deliver practical, hands‑on training while also designing high‑quality learning materials that support operational excellence.
Working closely with operational leaders, culinary teams, HSEQ and the L&D Manager, the role will support the full learning cycle – from identifying training needs through to delivering face‑to‑face and virtual learning and embedding capability through on‑site coaching. The position is highly mobile, with regular travel primarily across the South of England.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, practical on‑site training across food safety, culinary skills, service standards and operational excellence.
- Design, develop and maintain learning materials including eLearning, classroom resources, guides, toolkits and videos.
- Create and update digital learning content using authoring tools such as Adapt, Articulate or Elucidat.
- Support training delivery, tracking and development through the in‑house Learning Management System (My Learning).
- Conduct learning needs analysis in partnership with managers and operational sites to identify capability gaps.
- Provide hands‑on coaching to colleagues and managers, embedding learning into day‑to‑day operations.
- Ensure all training aligns with food safety legislation, company policies, brand standards and audit requirements.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and contribute to the continuous improvement of learning programmes and frameworks.
Person Specification
- Proven experience delivering training and coaching within an operational environment.
- Background in food service, hospitality, catering or a culinary setting.
- Experience developing training content or supporting learning and development programmes.
- Strong food safety knowledge; Level 3 food safety certification desirable.
- Training qualification desirable but not essential (relevant experience considered).
- Competent MS Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel (beginner to intermediate).
- Ability to manage diaries and travel arrangements effectively.
- Full UK driving licence required.
