Foreman

Our client is a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor and is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join their team on a major flood alleviation scheme. This is a permanent opportunity for someone with strong structures experience, ideally within reinforced concrete and heavy civils environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring delivery against programme, quality, and safety targets
• Plan and coordinate trades, labour, plant, and subcontractors
• Establish and monitor key stage programmes
• Interpret drawings/specifications and communicate effectively to site teams
• Ensure method statements and risk assessments are in place for all high-risk activities
• Maintain site presentation, security, and organisation
• Liaise with commercial, design, and project teams to resolve technical queries
• Support environmental and HSE objectives in line with project requirements
• Attend and contribute to site and internal meetings

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a General Foreman within civil engineering
• Strong background in structures / reinforced concrete works
• Experience working for a Tier 1 or leading main contractor
• SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS (essential)
• First Aid at Work
• IOSH or equivalent H&S training
• Knowledge of Temporary Works, Excavation Safety, and lifting operations
• Strong organisational, communication, and planning skills
