Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off

  • 2 weeks of days (6:00am – 6:00pm)
  • Followed by 2 weeks of nights (6:00pm – 6:00am)

Summary of Job Role

To safely and efficiently operate a counterbalance forklift truck, moving finished products from production lines into storage while ensuring production runs smoothly and safely at all times.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Forklift Driver

  • Carry out daily FLT start-up checks and report any issues to the Shift Manager.
  • Ensure production lines are fully stocked with the correct materials to maintain efficient operation.
  • Store unused or old materials in the appropriate designated areas.
  • Complete palletiser changeovers in line with the production schedule, resolving issues where possible and reporting downtime to the Shift Manager.
  • Complete start-up checks on palletisers.
  • Remove finished products from production lines and place them into the correct warehouse locations, ensuring all products are correctly identified and labelled.
  • Scan pallets of finished stock in line with company training procedures.
  • Manage part pallets at the start and end of production runs, relocating them to warehouse storage and adjusting pallet quantities accurately.
  • Remove all waste from production lines and dispose of it in the correct recycling areas.
  • Load and unload lorries as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Requirements

  • Valid counterbalance FLT licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to health & safety
