Full Stack Software Engineer (.NET / Vue.js / Azure - Ideally some Python/AWS will be very helpful)

Contract: 6 Months Initial Contract

Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: Remote with 2 days per month onsite in Leeds or London

Overview

We're looking for an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join a high-profile public sector digital transformation programme. You'll be working within an agile delivery team, building and enhancing modern, cloud-native applications used by thousands of end users.

This role requires strong full-stack development expertise across .NET, Vue.js and Azure, alongside previous experience delivering solutions within Government, NHS, or wider public sector environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable web applications using .NET and Vue.js
  • Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end applications
  • Deploy and support cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps and QA teams
  • Contribute to technical design, code reviews and best practices
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
  • Ensure solutions meet security, performance and compliance standards

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with:
  • C# /.NET Core / .NET 6+
  • Vue.js
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • REST API development and integration
  • SQL Server and relational databases
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including services such as:
  • App Services
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure DevOps
  • Storage Accounts
  • Service Bus
  • Key Vault
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and CI/CD

Previous experience delivering projects within:

  • UK Government departments
  • NHS organisations
  • Public Sector bodies

Desirable Experience

Candidates with any of the following will be particularly attractive:

  • Python development experience
  • AWS cloud experience
  • API-first architecture and API management platforms
  • Microservices architecture
  • Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programmes
  • Exposure to GDS standards and public sector delivery frameworks
