Urgent Requirement – Freelance Plumbing & Gas Workplace Assessor (Immediate Start)
We are currently seeking an experienced Plumbing & Domestic Gas Assessor for an immediate start to support apprenticeship learners undertaking City & Guilds 9074 Gas Engineering and City & Guilds 9189 Plumbing & Domestic Heating qualifications.
This is a freelance workplace-based assessing assignment, requiring a candidate who is confident carrying out:
- workplace competency observations
- portfolio evidence reviews
- learner progress assessments
- employer liaison
- action planning and feedback
- awarding body paperwork completion
The successful assessor will be supporting learners in the workplace to ensure they are progressing in line with City & Guilds apprenticeship standards and assessment criteria.
The 9074 qualification specifically covers practical observation and gas engineering competence, whilst 9189 includes practical installation/application assessments and workplace portfolio evidence, therefore candidates must have strong up-to-date occupational understanding in both domestic gas and plumbing/heating systems.
Essential Requirements
- A1 Assessor Award / TAQA / CAVA or equivalent assessing qualification
- Current or recent domestic gas industry competency
- Strong plumbing and heating background
- ACS Domestic Gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1 etc)
- Experience assessing apprentices in the workplace
- Familiarity with City & Guilds portfolio standards and evidence collection
- Full UK Driving Licence
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience assessing City & Guilds 9074 Gas Engineering learners
- Previous experience assessing City & Guilds 9189 Plumbing & Domestic Heating learners
- IQA qualification
- Experience supporting or invigilating practical ACS gas assessment activity
- FE College or Training Provider background
