General Maintenance Operative

Maintenance Operative – Client Direct – North London – £40,000 – Mon to Fri – 8am to 4pm

This is an excellent client direct opportunity to join the in house estates team of a prestigious North London campus. Working across a large and well maintained estate, you will play a key role in ensuring buildings remain safe, presentable, and fully operational for staff, students, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate
• Completing basic plumbing repairs including taps, toilets, and minor leaks
• Performing general carpentry and fabric maintenance works
• Painting, decorating, and making good throughout the buildings
• Assisting with room setups for meetings, functions, events, and examinations
• Supporting furniture moves and departmental relocations
• Carrying out routine inspections and reporting defects
• Replacing ceiling tiles, locks, ironmongery, and fixtures
• Assisting contractors during maintenance and project works
• Maintaining high presentation standards across the site
• Completing maintenance records and job sheets accurately
• Supporting the wider estates and facilities team with operational requirements

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within facilities maintenance, estates, caretaking, or building maintenance
• Strong all round maintenance and handyman skills
• Experience carrying out basic plumbing, carpentry, and fabric repairs
• Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check
• Professional and customer focused approach
• Good communication and organisational skills
• HVAC knowledge or experience would be highly beneficial
• Reliable, proactive, and team focused attitude
