We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join its Humanities department. This school is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of global issues and environmental challenges.

Job Overview:

  • Full-time, Monday - Friday Geography Teacher role.
  • Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire a passion for Geography.
  • Teach a range of topics including physical geography, human geography, environmental issues and global development.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment and achievement.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school community.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, fieldwork opportunities and enrichment activities.
  • Support students of all abilities to reach their full potential.

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Geography or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge across physical and human geography.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A passion for Geography and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • A proactive, positive and collaborative approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
