We are working with a well-regarded Secondary School in Colchester that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join its Humanities department. This school is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of global issues and environmental challenges.
Job Overview:
- Full-time, Monday - Friday Geography Teacher role.
- Teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitable candidates.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that inspire a passion for Geography.
- Teach a range of topics including physical geography, human geography, environmental issues and global development.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment and achievement.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school community.
- Contribute to curriculum development, fieldwork opportunities and enrichment activities.
- Support students of all abilities to reach their full potential.

What we're looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Geography at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge across physical and human geography.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A passion for Geography and the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- A proactive, positive and collaborative approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
