Are you a graduate looking to gain meaningful experience in education before pursuing teaching, psychology, speech & language therapy or another child-focused career?
We are recruiting for a fantastic full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant position within a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. This is a unique opportunity to work within the school’s Hearing Impaired Base, supporting a small group of pupils from KS3 up to A-Level alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff.
This is an incredibly rewarding role where you will help students access learning, build confidence and achieve their full academic potential in a calm and nurturing environment.
The Role
- Full-time position: Monday to Friday
- Working hours: 08:15am – 15:15pm
- September 2026 – July 2027
- Daily rate: £93 per day
- Supporting pupils within lessons rather than leading teaching
- Working closely alongside teachers and specialist staff
- Providing academic and pastoral support to a small number of students
What We’re Looking For
- A graduate or someone who has recently completed higher education
- Strong academic background essential
- Confidence supporting subjects such as Maths and Physics is highly desirable
- Calm, patient and approachable personality
- Someone reliable, empathetic and genuinely interested in supporting young people
- Ideal for aspiring teachers or graduates wanting school-based experience
No previous experience with hearing impairment is required.
British Sign Language (BSL) is not needed for this role.
The school is happy to support someone with the right attitude, strong academic ability and willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
