Are you a recent graduate who is interested in education and considering teacher training in the future? Would you like to gain paid, hands-on classroom experience while learning from outstanding teachers in a variety of primary school settings?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic graduates across Cambridge and the surrounding areas who are available for supply work and trial days, with the opportunity to secure a year-long paid Teaching Assistant position from September.
Graduate Teaching Assistants required across Cambridge and surrounding areas
- Primary Schools across Cambridge, Cambourne, Ely, Histon, St Ives, Huntingdon, Newmarket and Royston
- Immediate and September 2026 starts available
- £93 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
- Open to all graduates (preferably with a 2:2 degree or above)
- Some schools can offer teacher training opportunities following a successful Teaching Assistant placement
Every year, Tradewind supports hundreds of graduates in gaining their first classroom experience and taking the first step towards a rewarding career in education. These opportunities are based within a range of welcoming primary schools and provide an excellent introduction to teaching.
No previous school experience is required - just a strong academic background, a positive attitude, confidence, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you can expect to receive:
- FREE access to Tradewind's Teaching Assistant School and Safeguarding (KCSIE) training
- Unlimited FREE CPD through The National College
- Valuable classroom-based experience within supportive primary schools
- Flexible supply work or long-term placements paid between £93 - £100 per day

- A potential route into teacher training through school-based programmes or strong references for PGCE applications
The Graduate Teaching Assistant role requires:
- A genuine passion for education and supporting pupils of all abilities
- A strong university degree, alongside solid GCSE and A-Level results
- A confident, proactive personality with excellent communication skills
- The ability to engage and motivate children from a range of backgrounds
