The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers.  Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.

This is an exciting new opportunity to manage of a number of courses, ensuring that the standards and the quality of teaching and learning are constantly improved and that all members of staff work towards delivering excellence.

Your focus will be on three core areas: Develop a flexible and innovative curriculum for the courses within your responsibility that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners.   Continually improve standards of course performance and teaching and learning across all courses within your area of responsibility.  Support the Curriculum Manger in providing clear leadership to all the staff within the curriculum area so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.

To be successful in this we believe you should have significant post-qualification teaching experience and a proven track record of motivating and leading people to achieve excellence. You should also have experience in, and be able to contribute to the teaching of one or more programme areas offered within the curriculum area.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a flexible and innovative curriculum for the courses within your responsibility that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners.
  • Continually improve standards of course performance and teaching and learning across all courses within your area of responsibility.
  • Support the Curriculum Manager in providing clear leadership to all the staff within the curriculum area so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • has a first degree (or holds professional qualifications appropriate to employment within the area of teaching);
  • holds an appropriate teaching qualification such as DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent;
  • is an outstanding teacher who achieves excellent levels of success; able to work with awarding bodies and university on validation, quality standards and curriculum development.
