Branta are seeking a practical, personable and helpful Handyman with experience to join a facilities team in Killingworth. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and keeping buildings and grounds safe, clean, and welcoming.

Working as part of a supportive, multi-skilled team, you’ll take responsibility for day-to-day site upkeep, carrying out basic repairs, maintenance, and caretaking duties across a range of properties. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opening, securing, and checking sites each day.

  • Carrying out basic maintenance and repair work.

  • Completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

  • Setting up rooms and moving furniture as required.

  • Managing waste and keeping communal areas and grounds clean and tidy.

  • Supporting the supervision of contractors and site visitors.

  • Being approachable and willing to help staff, students, and visitors as needed.

About You:
You’ll be helpful, personable, and a true team player, taking pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. You’ll have a good range of general maintenance skills, the ability to work independently, and the willingness to support colleagues and site users.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities, or handyman role.

  • Good basic DIY and repair skills.

  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.

  • Willing to undertake enhanced DBS check.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within an estates or facilities management environment.

  • Any trade skills or relevant maintenance qualifications.
