Maintenance Assistant – Fixed Term (6 Months)
Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is looking for a practical and motivated individual to join their maintenance team on a 6‑month fixed‑term basis.
There’s strong potential to extend beyond 6 months, with the opportunity to progress into a trainee or apprenticeship pathway, depending on the individual and availability.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who already holds relevant trade or building services qualifications and is keen to gain hands‑on, real‑world experience within a live maintenance environment. The role is suited to a “handy person” type who enjoys practical work and learning across a range of disciplines.
Working alongside experienced engineers, the successful candidate will support day‑to‑day maintenance activities while developing skills across electrical, mechanical, plumbing and general building maintenance. This is a learning‑focused role offering valuable exposure to multiple trades in a supportive setting.
The Role
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support both planned and reactive maintenance activities across site, gaining practical experience and developing safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Support basic fault finding and repair work
- Carry out routine checks and minor maintenance works
- Assist engineers across electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building services tasks
- Follow safe systems of work and compliance standards
- Use tools and equipment safely and correctly
- Support day‑to‑day site maintenance activities
- Learn and develop practical maintenance skills in a live environment
About You
