Hardwood Sales Person

CNC Recruitment are seeking an experienced salesperson to generate high-quality enquiries and build relationships with new and prospective customers involved in premium construction and architectural projects. This role is primarily focused on telephone outreach across the South and South-East, with occasional field-based activity. It is well suited to someone confident, commercially aware, and comfortable engaging with professionals in the high-end residential building market.
Location: Lopen, near South Petherton, Somerset
Type: Full-Time/Permanent
Hours: Full-time preferred, part-time considered (minimum 3 days per week)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
The Role
You will be responsible for developing a strong prospect base by:
- Contacting potential customers
- Introducing our products
- Generating interest in our services
- Securing face-to-face meetings and product enquiries
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a targeted list of contacts
- Conduct outbound calls and develop rapport with prospects
- Generate and qualify new leads
- Accurately record and manage sales activity
- Support the wider team with a steady pipeline of opportunities
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in telemarketing, telesales, or outbound sales
- Strong knowledge of timber products (ideally oak)
- Confidence speaking with professionals and decision-makers
- Ability to navigate organisations and handle gatekeepers
- Professional, credible telephone manner
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong organisational and self-management abilities
Desirable:
- Experience in construction, architecture, or a related industry
- Interest in high-quality materials or design-led projects
Working Arrangements
- Remote or home-based working available
- Initial training ideally based in South Petherton (partly remote possible)
- Ongoing office attendance required periodically (e.g. twice per month)
- Full-time or part-time considered (minimum 3 days per week)
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 – £50,000 (pro rata for part-time), depending on experience
