Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a hands-on Head of Build & Production to play a key role in the next stage of its journey.

This is not just a management role; it’s an opportunity to shape how things are built. You’ll take ownership of the workshop and installation teams while helping evolve production processes, introduce efficiencies, and support scalable growth.

Role Overview:

This role combines leadership, production planning, and quality control with a strong hands-on approach. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the workshop and installations, while also bringing fresh thinking around modular construction, process optimisation, and manufacturing scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all workshop operations, ensuring safe and efficient production
  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet internal and external demand
  • Ensure all builds meet high quality standards and specifications
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate material ordering
  • Coordinate installation schedules across multiple sites
  • Ensure all installations are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges and implement practical solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery into live environments
  • Support recruitment, on-boarding, and training of new hires
  • Set clear expectations and maintain high performance standards
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team culture
  • Maintain a safe working environment across workshop and sites
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls
  • Apply experience in modular construction and modern build methods
  • Introduce tools, machinery, and systems to enhance consistency and reduce build time

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Proven experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or construction environment
  • Experience managing or supervising teams
  • Hands-on, practical mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across teams

Highly Desirable

  • Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or off-site manufacturing
  • Background in timber construction, carpentry, or similar trade
  • Experience managing installations or site-based projects
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g. COSHH, risk assessments)

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
  • Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm (on-site role; no hybrid working)
