About the College

We are a high-performing, inclusive sixth form serving a diverse 16–19 student community in North Kensington. The college is committed to academic excellence, strong pastoral care, and a values-driven ethos rooted in Catholic principles, while welcoming staff and students from all backgrounds.

The Business and Economics department is one of the largest and most successful areas of the college, with a strong track record of excellent outcomes and progression to competitive university courses in Economics, Business, Finance and related disciplines.

The Role

We are seeking an inspirational and ambitious Head of Business & Economics to lead a thriving department and continue to drive outstanding outcomes across A Level and vocational pathways.

You will provide clear strategic leadership, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong student progress, and a culture of aspiration and achievement. You will also play a key role in shaping curriculum innovation and enrichment opportunities, including links with industry and higher education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop the Business and Economics department
  • Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Drive strong student outcomes across A Level and vocational qualifications
  • Oversee curriculum planning, sequencing and continuous improvement
  • Lead data-informed strategies to monitor and improve student progress
  • Develop enrichment opportunities, including competitions, guest speakers and university links
  • Support and mentor teaching staff, including ECTs and experienced teachers
  • Contribute to the wider leadership and strategic priorities of the college
About You

We are looking for a committed and forward-thinking leader who can combine strong subject expertise with inspirational leadership.

You will have:

  • A degree in Economics, Business or a closely related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A proven track record of excellent classroom teaching
  • Experience in curriculum leadership or departmental responsibility
  • Strong understanding of A Level and/or vocational Business/Economics provision
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team effectively
