Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be exclusively partnering with a growing, owner-led business to recruit a Head of Finance. This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious organisation at a pivotal stage of its growth journey, working directly alongside the Managing Director and senior leadership team.

The business operates across multiple revenue streams, including established retail supply channels, a rapidly expanding e-commerce offering, and a portfolio of recognised brands. With continued investment, growth plans, and acquisition activity on the horizon, this role offers genuine influence and the opportunity to play a key part in shaping the future direction of the business.

This is far more than a traditional finance position. As the number one finance lead, you will take ownership of the finance function while acting as a trusted commercial partner to the Managing Director, providing insight, challenge, and support to drive performance, profitability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Produce monthly management accounts, board reporting, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections.
• Monitor financial performance, profitability, working capital, and overall business health.
• Provide commercial analysis and insight across products, customers, contracts, and sales channels.
• Partner closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making.
• Support acquisition activity, due diligence, integration projects, and wider business growth initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Strengthen financial controls, processes, governance, and reporting frameworks.
• Review existing systems and support the implementation of a modern cloud-based finance platform.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, external advisors, and key stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance and wider business operations.

About You

We are keen to speak with commercially minded finance professionals who enjoy operating within dynamic, entrepreneurial businesses and are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience operating as a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Finance Business Partner within a fast-paced business environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge, influence, and support senior stakeholders.
• Experience within SME, owner-led, growth-focused, or complex trading businesses.
• Exposure to retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, consumer products, wholesale, distribution, or similar sectors would be advantageous.
• A track record of improving financial reporting, controls, systems, and business processes.
• Experience partnering with operational leaders and contributing to business strategy.
• Strong leadership capability with experience developing teams and building relationships across the organisation.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
