Irwin and Colton are pleased to be engaged by a major civil engineering contractor to recruit a Health and Safety Business Partner. The company has over 10,000 employees worldwide and is a leader in it's field. This role will be responsible for driving a positive safety culture on a range of major construction projects across London and the Southern region. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and motivated health and safety professional looking to further develop and grow their career with a leader in the construction and engineering industry.

This role will primarily support a major contract across Euston and West London for approximately six days per month, with the remainder of the time split between home working and visits to sites across the Southeast.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Business Partner include:

• Implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures on site
• Assessing upcoming challenges and ensuring health and safety solutions are in place
• Being site based to assist, advise to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the health and safety strategy
• Conducting incident investigation to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
• Constantly assessing opportunities for improvements and sharing best practice across the project and wider organisation

The successful Health and Safety Business Partner will have:

• Proven experience in a similar role from within the construction industry, ideally within civil engineering, piling, rail or utilities
• NEBOSH Certificate, and ideally achieved or working towards the NEBOSH Diploma level
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to tailor a message and communicate succinctly to a range of stakeholders
• A self starter who is comfortable managing their own diary
