Heavy Plant Technician

Salary: £39,000 - £43,500 DOE
Monday to Friday | 7:00am - 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Location: North Lincolnshire 

Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well-established engineering and industrial business to recruit a Heavy Plant Technician to join their maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical technician, plant fitter, HGV technician or maintenance engineer looking to join a business that can offer long-term career development, excellent benefits and ongoing training opportunities.

As a Heavy Plant Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of heavy plant and mobile equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on heavy plant equipment

  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults

  • Conduct inspections and servicing in line with maintenance schedules

  • Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased equipment reliability

  • Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and operations teams to minimise downtime

  • Support equipment installations, upgrades and improvement projects when required

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Heavy plant maintenance

  • Plant fitting

  • HGV maintenance and repair

  • Agricultural machinery maintenance

  • Construction equipment maintenance

  • Mobile plant engineering

You will also have:

  • A recognised mechanical engineering, plant maintenance or vehicle maintenance qualification

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and diesel-powered equipment

  • A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving

  • Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety
