Location: Windsor, Berkshire, with travel to London
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, generally 8:00am – 5:30pm

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Heritage Project Manager to oversee conservation and restoration projects across Windsor, London and the surrounding areas.

The role will be based primarily on a major heritage project in Windsor, with regular travel to the company’s London office and other project sites. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects, coordinate subcontractors and site teams, maintain project documentation and ensure works are delivered in line with quality, programme, budget, conservation and health and safety requirements.

This is a semi-autonomous position requiring regular collaboration with Contracts Managers, Commercial Managers, Estimators, Site Managers, the Finance team and Project Quantity Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of multiple heritage construction, conservation and restoration projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, compliance and programme performance
  • Coordinate with Contracts Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider delivery team to plan and execute works effectively
  • Manage projects involving listed buildings and historic structures, applying knowledge of traditional materials and techniques including lime mortars, stonework, traditional pointing, leadwork and slate roofing
  • Organise, monitor and review subcontractor performance, quality, compliance and delivery
  • Liaise with clients, architects, surveyors, conservation officers, local authorities and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project meetings and report on progress, risks, programmes, costs and key decisions
  • Manage programmes, project documentation and collaboration using Microsoft Project and SharePoint
  • Ensure project records align with the Building Safety Regulator’s Golden Thread and high-risk building reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant health and safety legislation
  • Work with the Finance team and Project Quantity Surveyor to manage budgets, procurement, purchasing, subcontractor pricing and scheduling
  • Support carbon monitoring and reduction strategies across projects
  • Provide technical input and specialist heritage knowledge across other company projects when required
Requirements
  • Proven construction project management experience, with heritage or listed building experience required
  • Strong knowledge of heritage construction materials and techniques, including lime mortars, stonework, traditional pointing, leadwork and slate roofing
  • Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring compliance with conservation, quality and project requirements
  • Ability to read and assess drawings, technical reports, site inspection records and other project documentation
  • Experience producing condition reports and conservation-specific assessments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and SharePoint; AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations, site safety, budgeting, procurement and project scheduling
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience leading project meetings
  • A trade background is preferable, although applications will also be considered from candidates with relevant academic qualifications or a combination of practical and academic experience
  • Flexible, detail-focused and willing to support other projects where specialist knowledge is required
What’s on Offer
  • Salary of £60,000 – £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Discretionary bonus of approximately 5% per annum following successful completion of the probationary period
  • 20 days’ annual leave plus eight bank holidays, increasing by one day per year of service to a maximum of 25 days
