Job description
As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for operating a dustcart vehicle on scheduled waste collection routes, working alongside a team of loaders to complete residential and commercial collections efficiently.

This is a hands-on Class 2 driving role requiring good awareness of health & safety, route management, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving a Class 2 dustcart vehicle on assigned routes
  • Supervising and working with a team of refuse loaders
  • Completing household and commercial waste collections
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with waste management and safety regulations
  • Assisting with loading duties when required
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and route documentation

Pay & Benefits:

  • £17.35 per hour (accrue holiday)
  • £19.44 inclusive of holiday pay.
  • Weekly pay
  • Full-time, ongoing work

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Early starts 06:00
  • Day shifts (8–10 hours)

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C)
  • CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous dustcart / refuse experience preferred
  • Minimum 6 months Class 2 driving experience
  • Good knowledge of UK driving regulations
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-focused

Letchworth, Hertfordshire – ideal for drivers based in Hertfordshire, Stevenage, Baldock, Biggleswade, Hitchin
