Hours: Nightshift 19:00 to 06:00 4 on 4 off
We are seeking a skilled HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician to join a busy workshop team responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing electrical systems across a fleet of passenger service vehicles. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in commercial vehicles, buses, coaches or heavy plant who enjoys fault finding and electrical diagnostics.
The Role of the HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and electronic faults on buses and coaches.
- Carrying out fault finding using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems.
- Repairing and replacing wiring looms, sensors, relays, switches and control units.
- Diagnosing CAN Bus and multiplex electrical systems.
- Maintaining vehicle lighting, CCTV, destination equipment and ancillary systems.
- Carrying out electrical inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Supporting mechanical technicians with complex electrical faults.
- Ensuring all work is completed to company and DVSA standards.
What We're Looking for from the HGV Auto Electrician / PSV Auto Electrician
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Auto Electrical or Engineering.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, coaches or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of CAN Bus systems and vehicle electronics.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
- A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
