The Opportunity for the HGV Technician
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established engineering operation based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled vehicle technician looking for long-term stability, career progression, and the chance to work on modern and electric vehicle technology.
You’ll be joining a busy, professional engineering team responsible for maintaining a large fleet of buses, with strong investment in tooling, training, and future technologies.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician
- Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
- Accurately diagnose faults and identify the correct repair methods and components
- Complete routine servicing and vehicle examinations
- Use handheld data capture devices where required
- Attend on-road breakdowns and vehicle recoveries
- Carry out road testing to identify defects or confirm repairs
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance
Requirements of the HGV Technician
- Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in HGV or PSV Mechanics (essential)
- Flexible approach to shift working
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to obtain a PCV licence (support provided)
- Experience with buses or coaches is desirable, but all vehicle mechanics considered
