Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults.
- Complete safety inspections in line with DVSA and company standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and annual test inspections.
- Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns when required.
- Complete all workshop documentation accurately.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards.
- Work effectively within a team to maximise fleet availability.
Requirements of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, PSV, HGV, Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience maintaining HGVs, PSVs, buses, coaches, trucks, or commercial vehicles.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of vehicle electrics, braking, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
