HGV Technician – Workshop Based
Location: Ely
Salary: Up to £24 per hour
Hours: 45 hours per week – Monday to Friday

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to work in a fully equipped workshop, maintaining a modern mixed fleet and ensuring vehicles remain compliant, safe, and roadworthy. This HGV Technician role is ideal for someone with strong diagnostics and repair experience who wants a stable Monday-to-Friday position.
The Role As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing a mixed HGV fleet including Mercedes, Scania, and Volvo
  • Working on a range of trailers including single, double-deck, and flatbeds
  • Carrying out inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and MOT preparation
  • Ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy and fully compliant with safety and legal standards
  • Identifying faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
This HGV Technician position offers a workshop-based environment with no roadside breakdown work, providing consistency and structure.
Hours of Work
  • Monday to Friday – 45 hours per week
  • Flexible start and finish times available:
    • 6:00am – 3:30pm
    • 7:00am – 4:30pm
    • 8:00am – 5:30pm
  • Optional Saturday mornings as required
Requirements To be successful in this HGV Technician role, you will ideally have:
  • Level 3 HGV / Vehicle Maintenance qualification (preferred)
  • IRTEC accreditation (preferred, training available if not held)
  • Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous but not essential
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • A professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach
