Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (DOE) + overtime at 1.5x basic rate
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a leading commercial vehicle service centre in the Reading area. This permanent role offers excellent earning potential, structured working hours, and access to continuous training and development within a modern, well-equipped workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of HGVs.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
- Support workshop efficiency by keeping accurate job records and documentation.
- Conduct wheel alignment, tyre fitting, and general mechanical upkeep.
- Maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and compliance.
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI).
- Proven experience working on HGVs or trailers in a dealership or fleet environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with attention to quality and safety.
- Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential).
- Professional attitude, teamwork, and commitment to high service standards.
- Competitive base salary up to £45,000 plus overtime at 1.5x
