Our client, a reputable automotive workshop near Worthing, West Sussex, is seeking a highly experienced HGV Technician to join their busy and professional team. This role offers a rewarding career path for technicians dedicated to quality service and vehicle maintenance. As an integral part of the team, the HGV Technician will work on a diverse range of
heavy goods vehicles, including brands such as Scania, Volvo, DAF, Iveco, and Mercedes, providing an engaging and varied working environment.

Benefits of a HGV Technician:
  • Competitive basic salary up to £52,000 per year, with an achievable OTE of approximately £60,000
  • Overtime paid at time and a half; approximately 60 hours available per week to maximise earnings
  • Working hours from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, with rota Saturdays and flexibility with start and finish times

Duties of a HGV Technician:
  • Service and repair of a diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles
  • Conduct diagnostics and fault finding across all makes and models
  • Ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
  • Use diagnostic equipment such as Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS to identify issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Keep detailed records of work carried out and communicate findings effectively
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician is essential
  • Ideally NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical or equivalent
  • Experience working with large fleet vehicles from various manufacturers
  • Strong diagnostic skills, including familiarity with systems like Techsta, Jailtest, and DMS
  • Good understanding of vehicle safety standards and compliance requirements
  • Industry experience within independent workshops or fleet environments is advantageous
