Position: PSV/HGV Mechanical Fitter

Location: Norwich – Round Tree Way

Contracted Hours: 39 per week (permanent + overtime available)

Shifts: Early shifts 05:00-13:30

Pay Rate: £21.28 per hour

About the Role: 

Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of mechanical engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of buses across Norwich? We are looking for NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Engineers – preferably with HGV or PSV experience, however we also welcome applications from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing, and parts replacement
  • Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
  • Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using handheld data capture devices if applicable
  • Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
  • Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to identify specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

About You:

  •  Level 3 NVQ/SVQ (or City & Guilds equivalent) qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair – PSV/HGV preferred
  •  Flexible approach to work with the ability to multi skill
  • UK driving license holder
  • A PCV license is desirable however we can help you achieve this.
