We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Wednesbury, Walsall. This is a full-time position starting in September 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to become part of a committed school team focused on delivering high-quality education and support for pupils.

The Role
As a High Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range. You will work closely with teachers to deliver lessons, provide targeted interventions, and support pupils’ progress both inside and outside of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher when required
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to raise attainment and confidence
- Assist with the planning and preparation of engaging learning activities
- Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and passionate individual who is committed to supporting children within a primary school setting.
- HLTA qualification or relevant classroom experience is desirable
- Previous experience working within a primary school environment
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is beneficial
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to supporting learning
- Reliable, committed, and able to work effectively as part of a team

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.
