Exciting Opportunity for a Highways Site Supervisor in the East Midlands


An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Highways Site Supervisor to support the delivery of a busy programme of highways and public realm works across the East Midlands.


This role will play a key part in driving the delivery of highway schemes, focusing on contractor coordination, programme management, and ensuring smooth delivery across multiple projects. The successful candidate will be someone who can integrate well into an existing team, bring a proactive attitude, and support the timely and safe completion of highway construction and infrastructure works.


Main Responsibilities of the Highways Site Supervisor:


·Managing the delivery of highway and public realm construction and maintenance schemes.
·Acting as the primary client representative for external contractors and framework partners.
·Managing project programmes, phasing plans, and traffic management arrangements.
·Maintaining weekly site reporting, including progress, issues, quality, and health & safety updates.
·Assisting with change control processes including early warnings and compensation events.
·Liaising with subcontractors, contractors, and designers to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
·Monitoring progress on site and ensuring programme expectations are met.
·Supporting resource planning and allocation across multiple schemes.
·Conducting regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet required standards.
·Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, Construction Phase Plans, and CDM regulations.


Key experience needed for the Highways Site Supervisor role:


·Hands-on experience in highway construction and maintenance schemes including carriageways, footways, drainage, and public realm works.
·Ability to work across live sites and manage external delivery contractors.
·Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and liaising with contractors and design teams.
·Understanding of NEC contracts, change control, or site commercial procedures (desirable).
·Proactive, motivated, and able to integrate quickly into a team environment.
·Strong organisational skills, with attention to reporting, programme management, and delivery requirements.
·Experience in roles such as Site Agent, Project Manager, Contract Supervisor, or Highways Delivery Manager.
·Strong problem-solving ability with a practical understanding of buildability and on-site delivery challenges.
