HLTA Opportunity - Join Our Dedicated Team

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and experienced HLTA to join our friendly and supportive primary school in Strood, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified HLTA to make a significant impact across our school, working with pupils from Reception through to Year 5.

This full-time, permanent HLTA position is available for an immediate start. The successful HLTA will support teaching and learning across the primary phase, deliver targeted interventions, and provide high-quality classroom support while working closely with teachers and senior leaders.



Key Responsibilities of the HLTA

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning across Reception to Year 5.

  • Deliver lessons and learning activities as directed by class teachers.

  • Undertake whole-class teaching and cover responsibilities in the absence of teachers when required.

  • Lead targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.

  • Support pupils with a range of educational needs to achieve their full potential.

  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.

  • Assist in planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals.



The Successful HLTA Will:

  • Hold HLTA status or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Have recent experience working as an HLTA or in a similar role within a primary school setting.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.

  • Be confident supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Build positive and productive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.

  • Be adaptable, proactive, and committed to improving outcomes for all children.

  • Share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
