Provide Education is seeking a proactive, experienced, and supportive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Wakefield, supporting pupils across the school and contributing to high-quality teaching and learning.
This is a full-time, ongoing position, to start in September 2026. You would be working closely with teachers and senior leaders to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2). The successful candidate will deliver targeted interventions, lead learning activities, and provide classroom cover when required.
The school has a strong focus on inclusive learning and pupil development, with a supportive staff team and a positive learning environment, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step in their career.

HLTA Role Requirements
• HLTA status or equivalent experience supporting teaching and learning
• Previous experience working within a primary school setting
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2
• Experience delivering interventions and supporting pupil progress
• Ability to lead whole-class learning in the teacher's absence
• Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• A patient, proactive, and supportive approach
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and parents/carers
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
The Successful HLTA Will:
• Deliver planned lessons and learning activities to whole classes when required
• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
• Lead targeted intervention groups to accelerate pupil progress
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with varying needs
• Assist teachers with planning, preparation, assessment, and monitoring pupil progress
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development
• Help create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, SENCOs, and senior leaders
