Office-Based Role
A well-established and highly respected manufacturing business in Gloucestershire is looking to appoint an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to support its growing operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys being visible within a business, building strong relationships across all levels and working closely with senior leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a proactive and operational HR service across a workforce of approximately 200 employees.
The Role
Reporting directly into the CEO and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for delivering a full generalist HR service across the business.
This is a highly operational role where visibility, approachability and relationship building are key. You will be involved in everything from recruitment and employee relations to engagement initiatives and supporting managers across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and practical HR advice to managers and employees
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including sourcing, interviewing and onboarding
- Support managers with employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances and absence management
- Coach and guide managers on performance management processes
- Coordinate temporary labour requirements with external suppliers
- Review and update HR policies and procedures
- Support training, development and succession planning initiatives
- Manage internal communications including company updates and newsletters
- Monitor HR metrics including turnover, headcount and absence data
- Prepare and manage the HR budget
- Support employee engagement and company culture initiatives
- Line management responsibility for 2 cleaners

You will enjoy building relationships across all areas of the business and be comfortable working closely with both senior leadership and shop-floor employees.
Skills & Experience
- Significant operational HR experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong employee relations knowledge and practical application
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience
- Commercially aware with strong relationship-building skills
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems
- Self-motivated, proactive and hands-on in approach
