Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced HSE Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected organisation and play a key role in shaping and maintaining a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.

The Role

As a HSE Engineer, you’ll take a hands-on approach to ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This is a fast-paced role where you’ll collaborate across the business, influence behaviours, and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.

You’ll be instrumental in promoting best practice, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and review risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), and method statements
  • Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company standards
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and workplace assessments
  • Support external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Deliver training, inductions, and toolbox talks
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, data, and reporting
  • Assist in developing and improving HSE policies and procedures
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and engagement
  • Support environmental initiatives including waste management and sustainability
  • Participate in emergency planning and response activities
About You

We’re looking for a proactive and engaging HSE professional who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing or engineering environment.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practices
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A structured, organised, and solutions-focused approach
  • Confidence delivering training and influencing safe behaviours
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Qualifications & Experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • NEBOSH Diploma (desirable)
  • 2–3 years’ experience in an HSE role within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and investigations
  • Environmental awareness or qualifications (desirable)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
