Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a successful and supportive secondary school in Northampton to recruit a talented Humanities Teacher for the 2026/27 academic year. The school is ideally seeking a permanent appointment, although strong candidates interested in a fixed-term contract or long-term supply position are also encouraged to apply.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs, with the ability to teach Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4. The exact subject focus may include History, Geography, Religious Education, or a combination of Humanities disciplines, depending on your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons that challenge and motivate students
  • Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching available for the right candidate
  • Foster curiosity, independent thinking, and strong analytical skills within the classroom
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
  • Take an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and educational visits
  • Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • A degree and subject specialism in History, Geography, Religious Education, or a related Humanities field
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • A passion for Humanities and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour
  • A willingness to contribute to the continued success of the department and wider school community
