HV Cable Jointer (Multi-Voltage) – Power Systems
Location: The head office based in Glasgow. There will be a requirement to travel to various site locations in the UK.
Salary: £50k per annum
Contract: Full time, Permanent.
Hours: 37.5 Hours (8am - 4pm)

About the Role and what you will be doing:
As a vital part of our collaborative Power Systems team, you will be responsible for the installation, jointing, and termination of underground cables ranging from Low Voltage (240v/400v) up to High Voltage (11kV and 33kV).
Your work will span new connections, asset replacement, and network reinforcement. You will ensure all HV/LV operations are conducted in strict accordance with DNO/IDNO standards and Health & Safety legislation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Expertise in HV jointing and terminations up to 33kV (including Prysmian, Raychem/Tyco, 3M, and Pfisterer)
- Installation of Straight, Branch, and Trifurcating joints on both XLPE and PILC (Paper) cables
- HV/LV Fault Finding and spike testing procedures
- Preparation and completion of HV Test Certificates (Pressure Testing/VLF support)
- Submission of digital DMRs and 'As-Laid' drawings using mobile GIS/asset management software
- Competent in performing Dynamic Risk Assessments (DRA) and adhering to Method Statements for high-risk HV environments.
- Strict adherence to DNO/IDNO Safety Rules and the Distribution Safety Rules (DSRs)
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environmental (SHEQ) matters, particularly regarding HV safety distances and earthing
- Issue and work under Safety Documents including Permits to Work (PTW) and Limitations of Access (LOA)
- Follow Live Working Practices for LV and 'Dead Working' protocols for HV systems

Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Valid EUSR Safety Passport / Site Safety Certificate,
- COMP (LV/HV)
- APSP - R5 (Authorised Person Support),
- AWP-01, 02, 03 & 05 (33kV Authorisation)
- DNO Specific Authorisations (e.g., SPEN, SSE, UKPN)
- Experience with 11kV/33kV Heat Shrink and Cold Applied technology
- Significant experience in PILC to XLPE transition jointing
