We are now seeking a dedicated Instructor Demonstrator in Mechanical & Maintenance Engineering to join the Engineering team at our Deeside campus. This is an exciting opportunity to support practical learning in industry‑standard workshops and play a key role in developing the next generation of engineering talent.
About the Role
As an Instructor Demonstrator, you will:
• Deliver high‑quality practical demonstrations across a range of mechanical and maintenance engineering skills
• Support learners in developing hand‑skills, maintenance techniques, turning, and other core engineering competencies
• Work within well‑equipped, modern workshops using industry‑standard tools and machinery
• Plan and prepare practical activities in collaboration with the course delivery team
• Maintain workshop standards, ensuring a safe, organised, and productive learning environment
• Carry out essential administrative tasks including record‑keeping, progress tracking, and learner assessments
• Promote safe working practices and uphold college policies relating to Health & Safety, Quality, and Equality
What We’re Looking For
• A minimum Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
• Strong practical engineering skills with up‑to‑date industry knowledge
• Confidence delivering practical demonstrations to groups of learners
• Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
• Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a positive workshop environment
• Understanding of quality standards within teaching and learning
• Welsh language skills are desirable, and support is available for colleagues wishing to develop their Welsh
